(USDA) Has Extended Free Meals For Students Through December 31, 2020
September 18, 2020
Dear Island Park Families,
We have received notification, that pursuant to section 2202(a) of the Families First Coronavirus Response Act (P.L. 116-127) and in light of the exceptional circumstances of the COVID-19 public health emergency, the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) has extended free meals for students through December 31, 2020.
As a result, all Island Park students will be eligible for breakfast and lunch, at no cost, through December 23, 2020. This will be retroactive from September 9, 2020. All families that paid for their child(ren)’s breakfast and/or lunch will receive a credit in their child(ren)’s account. We strongly encourage our families to continue to complete the Free and Reduced Price Meals application as the extended free meals for students program is subject to change and based upon federal funding.
